Larry Hill

Larry started making HeliX™ banjo rims in 2006. In November of ’06 Tom Chapin, a national touring artist and younger brother of Harry Chapin, began touring with a HeliX™ banjo. Larry, of course, is very jazzed about this.

Larry has played 5-string banjo since age 16. He played in a group called ‘The Minutemen’ and he even made his own banjo then. Larry toured in Germany in 2003. Currently, Larry is an active singer/songwriter. He plays 6 & 12-string guitars and of course 5-string banjo. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Fiddler’s Dream Coffeehouse, a local acoustic music venue in Phoenix. (www.FiddlersDream.org)

HeliX™ banjo rims are unique on the market, utilizing an ancient architectural method of producing arches and wagon wheels. Larry MAY be the first person to adapt this concept to a banjo rim. HeliX™ rims are very durable and are lifetime guaranteed. They produce more volume and tone quality than standard rims, and the complete banjos are much lighter weight and use "less" tone ring, less bronze metal, than standard banjos. HeliX™ rims are made from renewable American hardwoods like Cherry, Maple, and Walnut. Other exotic woods like Mahogany are also available.
