I graduated from the Reberto-Venn School of Luthiery in the Spring of 1989 and started building guitars in Truckee, CA (in the Reno-Tahoe area) that Fall. In 2005 I moved to Yarnell, AZ, where my shop is located in an old stone-built miner’s cabin used by gold miners who worked the Yarnell Gold Mine at the turn of the century. I specialize in acoustic steel string and round neck resonator guitars, using exotic tone woods such as Bubinga, Cocobola, Zebrawood, Lacewood, Purpleheart and Padauk, as well as the more traditional rosewoods, mahoganies and maples. I have also built solid body electrics and classical guitars in the Bouchet style. I very much enjoy building custom guitars in partnership with the customer, imparting much of that person’s playing style and personality into their customized instrument; making it a very personal experience e for both of us.
