Myrtlewood Art Deco 5600 DreadnaughtClick on picture for close-ups. Use back arrow to return to this webpage.
The 5600 series has more decoration and on this guitar my wife went with an Art Deco feeling. The fret markers and headstock decoration are off set diamonds and the purfling is reflective of the popular dental-molding with alternating crushed malachite & abalone. The best part of this guitar is the Myrtlewood. My dad bought a slab of Oregon Myrtlewood at a garage sale over 30 years ago and the guy told him that the wood had been cut 45 years earlier. I got four guitar sets from the 75 year old wood and each guitar sounds fantastic. It is featured in three tunes on our Lovin' Haight Guitars CD.
